Yes, and the studio today looks the same as it did in 1979.  Here I am standing in the same room, in almost the same spot last weekend in Hollywood. 

This is the 1982 Budweiser Superfest, held in August 1982 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. You see Ashford & Simpson behind Michael dancing.  Jet magazine wrote about this and they have some pictures (posted on MJphotoscollectors) from the event where he is with Rod Temperton (remember they are recording Thriller at this moment!!!!) and another with Ashford & Simpson (Valerie is wearing the same outfit as in this video). WOW! I love it. Thank you for finding this!
